Layercode Beta Updates July 2025

We've been working closely with our Beta community over the last month, and are excited to share that we've shipped some major improvements to Layercode based on your feedback:

Lower pricing

We've reduced Layercode's platform fee by 25% (now $0.04/minute), and reduced pricing for all voice model providers:

  • ElevenLabs = $0.05/minute
  • Cartesia = $0.03/minute
  • Rime = $0.02/minute

Remember, silence is free — you only pay for active conversation time.

Twilio integration

Your users can now call your agent: Simply connect your Twilio account to assign phone numbers directly to your agents. More Twilio functionality coming soon.

Review sessions/calls list

The dashboard shows all sessions and calls with detailed browser logs for each session. Session/call recording is coming soon.

Best-in-class turn-taking & interruption detection

Layercode's turn-taking is now even more responsive and reliable. We're proud to say that we are best in class, and now exceed most competitors.

Customize turn taking timer

Depending on your use case, you may want your agent to give snappier responses or more patient listening. You can now customize the response delay to fit your agent's use case.

Improved background noise handling

In noisy environments, sounds can often inadvertently interrupt voice agents. We've made improvements to background noise filtering so it's far less likely that your agent will be interrupted unless a user actually speaks.

New voice provider: Rime

We've added support for Rime, a fast and affordable TTS provider. Rime is a great option for developers who want low-latency voice output at a lower price point.
